Dropping someone at Bristol Airport costs £8.50 for the first 10 minutes. Stay longer and the price rises to £10.50, then £13, then £30. Below are the airport’s own charges, what parking costs at the gate, and where a fixed-fare taxi from north Bristol costs less than driving yourself.
What Bristol Airport charges to drop off or pick up
| Time in the Drop Off & Pick Up car park | Charge |
|---|---|
| Up to 10 minutes | £8.50 |
| 10 to 20 minutes | £10.50 |
| 20 to 40 minutes | £13.00 |
| 40 to 60 minutes | £30.00 |
| 1 to 2 hours (maximum stay) | £60.00 |
These are the prices on Bristol Airport’s parking price page, which marks them correct on 1 April 2026. The airport raised the 10-minute charge from £7 to £8.50 on 5 January 2026. Check the page before you travel, because prices change.
Blue Badge holders dropping off family or friends get up to 40 minutes for the same £8.50, according to the airport’s January 2026 announcement.
The free option and its catch
The Waiting Zone is free for up to 60 minutes. Your driver waits there and you ride a shuttle bus from the Public Transport Interchange near the terminal to meet them, with your luggage. The airport says the shuttle runs every 15 minutes. The zone has a no return policy within 30 minutes.
Parking prices at the gate
Gate prices are what you pay without a booking. The airport states that pre-booked prices are lower and tells drivers to book online in advance.
| Car park (gate price) | 1 day | 3 days | 4 days |
|---|---|---|---|
| Short Stay (short walk to terminal) | £65 | £140 | £175 |
| Multi-Storey (short walk to terminal) | £60 | £165 | £210 |
| Silver Zone (bus to terminal) | Not listed | £100 | £135 |
Silver Zone is the cheapest option for longer stays. The airport sells it for stays of three days or more.
What a taxi costs from north Bristol
Our fixed fare to Bristol Airport from Aztec West, Filton, Bristol Business Park, Yate and Bradley Stoke is £55 each way in a Mercedes E-Class. The fare is for the car, not per person. Two people pay £27.50 each way. A return journey costs £110.
When driving costs less, and when a taxi does
For one night away, gate parking costs £60 to £65 against £110 for a return taxi. Parking costs less.
For four days, gate prices run from £135 to £210, so a £110 return taxi costs less than all three. Pre-booked Silver Zone parking costs less than its gate price, so for a week away booked months ahead, driving is often cheaper than two taxi fares. We say so plainly.
A taxi earns its price in three cases. You fly at 5am or land after midnight. Two or more people travel from the same address and split the fare. Or nobody wants to drive home or collect you afterwards.
A friend who drops you off and collects you pays £8.50 each time, so £17 in charges for two 10-minute stops. The airport counts four car journeys for a drop-off and pick-up, against two for a passenger who parks.
